Photography is one of those hobbies that gives you plenty of options for how and when to pursue it. You can be outside (or inside) making images, or editing and printing images. You can be reading about photography (or photographers). You can be studying techniques. You can be scouring E-Bay for gear just old enough to be just cheap enough. And you can be looking at photographs.
I spend most of my free time, such as it is, doing one of those things. I live in Chicago and make my living as a lawyer, but have been interested in photography most of my life – going back to instamatic cameras, drop-in film cartridges and flash cubes. The digital revolution made photography an easier hobby to pursue (and learn).
Instagram is a place to share photographs; YouTube a place to find sources of knowledge. Juried competitions are a way to test your progress. This website is a place for me to practice all the ways to enjoy photography. Thanks for visiting. I hope you return from time to time.
